Started in December 2022, the project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 6, Ba La - Xuan Mai section has a total investment of about 9,590 billion VND.
The project has a length of 21.7km, a cross-section scale of 50-60m. This is a key traffic project of the city, of particular importance in completing the radial traffic axis in the Southwest of the Capital.
The project has a total area to be recovered of about 105.13 ha in wards and communes, including: Kien Hung, Duong Noi, Phu Luong, Yen Nghia, Chuong My, Phu Nghia and Xuan Mai.
To date, most localities have completed site clearance and handed over to investors to implement projects; the remaining communes and wards that have not completed are also urgently speeding up progress.
At the dialogue conference with cases that have not agreed to hand over land in Xuan Mai commune on the evening of July 15, Mr. Trinh Ba Thuong, Vice Chairman of Xuan Mai Commune People's Committee emphasized that the project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 6, Ba La - Xuan Mai section is a key traffic project of Hanoi, which is of great significance in completing traffic infrastructure, reducing congestion, promoting socio-economic development of the area and improving people's lives.
Over the past time, with the drastic involvement of the entire political system, the close coordination of specialized agencies and the consensus and responsibility of the majority of people, land clearance work in the commune has achieved many positive results.
Most households and individuals agreed with the Party and State's policies, agreed with the compensation, support and resettlement plan; many households have proactively handed over the land even when they have not received the official compensation plan, showing a spirit of responsibility for the common interests of the community.
However, to date, there are still some households and individuals who have not agreed with the land acquisition decision and the compensation, support, and resettlement plan.

Vice Chairman of Xuan Mai Commune People's Committee affirmed that the commune government always determines that ensuring the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of the people is a consistent principle in the process of implementing compensation, support and resettlement.
All policies are implemented in accordance with the law, publicly, transparently, ensuring fairness, objectivity, and not affecting the rights of households whose land is recovered.
Currently, some households are still concerned about regimes and policies for compensation, support, resettlement, recovered area and some other contents in the project implementation process.
Regarding this issue, representatives of the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board and leaders of the Commune People's Committee directly exchanged, explained and clarified each content under their authority based on current legal regulations, helping people better understand the legal basis, compensation, support and resettlement policies when the State recovers land.
Local leaders hope to receive coordination between people in site clearance so that the project can be implemented soon and completed according to plan.
Inspecting the site at the project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 6, Ba La - Xuan Mai section on June 28, Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Tran Duc Thang requested that the demolition of the works must be completed in July 2026 to hand over the clean site to the construction contractor.
Contractors when handed over a clean site need to mobilize sufficient manpower and vehicles to accelerate progress to resolutely implement technical traffic opening before the Lunar New Year Dinh Mui 2027 and complete the entire project in the first quarter of 2027.
