On the morning of March 9, Nhat Le Border Guard Station (Quang Tri Border Guard) said that it had just coordinated to successfully rescue a fishing boat that was overturned by waves when entering Nhat Le estuary.
According to initial information, at 6:15 am on the same day, fishing vessel QB 11064-TS owned and captained by Mr. Nguyen Tien Hoang (born 1973, residing in My Canh residential group, Dong Hoi ward, Quang Tri province) encountered an incident while entering the estuary.
The fishing boat is 13.25m long, engaged in drift net fishing, with 5 crew members on board. Previously, the boat departed at 15:53 on March 8 to go fishing.
When the ship moved into the Nhat Le estuary area in the early morning of March 9, due to large waves, the vehicle was overturned by waves and sunk in half.
At the time of the incident, 3 crew members on the ship were discovered by fishing boats operating nearby and promptly rescued and brought ashore safely.
The remaining 2 people, including boat owner Nguyen Tien Hoang and 1 crew member, continued to stay on the boat waiting for functional forces to rescue.
Immediately after receiving the news, Nhat Le Border Guard Station urgently deployed rescue forces. 1 canoe and 4 officers and soldiers under the command of the Deputy Station Chief quickly approached the scene.
Border guards brought the remaining 2 crew members ashore safely.
At about 7 am on the same day, fishing boat QB 11064-TS surfaced again. The boat owner and functional forces mobilized boats in the solidarity team and fishing boats operating nearby to support pulling the boat and pumping water to fix the problem.
Currently, the situation of fishing vessels is being continuously monitored and handled.
