On the morning of July 9, information from the Cua Viet Port Border Guard Station (Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard) said that the unit had just coordinated with fishermen to extinguish a fishing boat fire that occurred in the area.
Previously, at 7:15 am on the same day, the Cua Viet Port Border Guard Station received a report from Mr. Nguyen Van Xuan (born in 1975, permanently residing in Gio Viet village, Cua Viet commune, Quang Tri province) - owner of the fishing vessel with registration number QT-93016-TS.
According to reports, Mr. Xuan's 16.5m long fishing boat, while anchored at the traditional wharf in Gio Viet village, suddenly had an electrical short circuit leading to a fire.

Immediately after receiving the news, the Cua Viet Port Border Guard Station immediately assigned a working group of 5 officers and soldiers to urgently be present at the scene, coordinating with local fishermen to deploy fire fighting measures.
By 8:30 am on the same day, with the efforts of functional forces and people, the fire was completely extinguished.
At the scene, the ship's compartment was completely burned down by the fire; the entire machinery system and fishing gear on the ship were also burned down and heavily damaged. Initial estimated property damage is about 800 million VND.
Currently, the case is being further inspected by functional agencies to support the family in overcoming the consequences.
