On the afternoon of November 2, the leader of the People's Committee of Hoa Hiep Bac Ward (Dong Hoa Town, Phu Yen) said that the border guards, local authorities and people used ropes to pull the drifting fishing boat closer to the shore to prevent waves from hitting and damaging the boat.
However, due to limited human resources, the fishing boat has not been towed to shore. The boat owner is currently negotiating with excavators to tow the fishing boat to shore.
According to Hoa Hiep Nam Border Guard Station (Border Guard of Phu Yen province), at about 6:10 a.m. the same day, the unit received information that fishing boat PY30222TS of Mr. Mai Dang Tru (36 years old, residing in Ward 6, Tuy Hoa city) was anchored at Da Dien estuary when the anchor broke and drifted to the beach in Hoa Hiep Bac ward.
After receiving the information, Hoa Hiep Nam Border Guard Station sent 15 officers and soldiers to coordinate with functional forces and local people to support and pull Mr. Tru's fishing boat ashore.
By noon today, the authorities had pulled the boat closer to shore, but due to the large waves, Mr. Tru's fishing boat still could not be pulled safely ashore.
According to Mr. Tru, at around 4am the same day, his family discovered that the fishing boat was no longer anchored at Da Dien estuary, so they organized a search. At around 6am, his family discovered the boat drifting on the beach in Hoa Hiep Bac ward.
Currently, Mr. Tru's family is calculating the plan to hire an excavator to pull the fishing boat, with the hope of bringing the fishing boat ashore soon before it is broken by big waves.
