On the morning of April 12, information from Binh Hai Border Guard Station (Command of Quang Ngai Provincial Border Guard Command) said that a fishing boat in Van Tuong commune caught fire at night, causing property damage of about 1 billion VND.
At about 9:30 pm on April 11, people in Phuoc Thien sea area, Van Tuong commune (Quang Ngai) discovered a fishing boat with registration number QNg 55376 TS, anchored at the Phuoc Thien beach, burning fiercely, so they reported it to the local authorities.
Immediately after receiving the news, the locality mobilized forces and people to urgently coordinate to extinguish the fire, and at the same time used basket boats to move and evacuate property on the ship to the shore. At this time, strong winds caused the fire to break out strongly, causing difficulties for firefighting. By 11:55 PM on the same day, the fire was completely controlled.
It is known that fishing vessel QNg 55376 TS has a length of 14.98 m, a capacity of 450 CV, owned by Mr. Vo Thanh Phan (resident of Phuoc Thien 2 village, Van Tuong commune); the vessel docked and anchored at the Phuoc Thien beach area from 3 pm on the same day.
Recorded at the scene, the fire did not cause any casualties; property, equipment, and fishing gear were burned, estimated at about 1 billion VND. Currently, functional agencies are investigating the cause and statistics on the extent of damage.
