Hai Phong - On the morning of July 21, the city was actively implementing the response to storm No. 3 Wipha to minimize damage when the storm made landfall.

Due to the influence of storm No. 3, from the evening of July 20 to the morning of July 21, Hai Phong will have moderate rain, some places will have heavy rain, scattered thunderstorms, the rainfall as of 1:00 a.m. on July 21 is generally from 14-40 mm. On the morning and afternoon of July 21, Hai Phong will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with common rainfall of 10-15 mm.

According to Lao Dong reporter at Ngoc Hai Fishing Port (Do Son), fishing boats have returned to anchor safely. According to the report of the City Border Guard, 1,657 vehicles/4,668 workers operating at sea are safely anchored at designated wharves and storm shelters. Most of them are fishing vessels. Currently, no vehicles have lost contact or are operating in the danger zone.

On the morning of July 21, many people in Do Son ward also gathered to reinforce their houses and businesses to minimize damage caused by the storm. Mr. Bui Van Thanh (Do Son ward) said that from the lesson after storm Yagi, Mr. Thanh's family focused their forces on protecting the gate, door, and corrugated iron roof. Some fruit trees that have not yet reached harvest time have also been carefully tied up to cope with the storm.

"Although I have prepared to fight the storm, I still hope the storm will ease so that people can suffer less damage" - Mr. Thanh shared.

In the city center, on the morning of July 21, Hai Phong City held an online meeting of 114 communes, wards, special zones and related departments and branches on storm prevention work No. 3. At the same time, many localities are checking the preparation of storm shelters, mobilizing people in apartment buildings and dangerous housing areas to proactively evacuate before the storm makes landfall.
