On July 9, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed a Decision to establish the Phu Quoc Economic Zone Management Board (An Giang province).
Accordingly, the Phu Quoc Economic Zone Management Board is an agency under the An Giang Provincial People's Committee, performing the function of direct state management of the economic zone in the Phu Quoc special zone. At the same time, manage and organize the implementation of the function of providing public administrative services and other supporting services related to investment, production and business activities for enterprises in economic zones according to the provisions of law.
The Phu Quoc Economic Zone Management Board has legal status, has an account, a national emblem; state administrative management budget, management board's career expenses and development investment capital provided by the state budget according to the plan and other funding sources according to regulations of competent state agencies.
The Head of the Management Board submits to the An Giang Provincial People's Committee to specifically prescribe the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the management board according to the provisions of law. The decision takes effect from July 9, 2025.
Also according to this decision, Decision No. 1588 dated September 14, 2015 of the Prime Minister on the establishment of the Phu Quoc Economic Zone Management Board, Kien Giang province is abolished.
Previously, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee decided to transfer and appoint Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Head of the Phu Quoc Economic Zone Management Board, Kien Giang Province (before the arrangement) to hold the position of Head of the Phu Quoc Economic Zone Management Board, An Giang Province.
Transfer and appoint Mr. Huynh Quang Hung, Mr. Ngo Minh Tri - Deputy Head of the Management Board of Phu Quoc Economic Zone, Kien Giang province (before the arrangement) to hold the position of Deputy Head of the Management Board of Phu Quoc Economic Zone, An Giang province.
