On March 6, information from the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism of Quang Binh, Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (Vietjet Air) will resume the Dong Hoi - Hanoi route with a frequency of 3 flights/week on Tuesday, May 5, and 7, starting from April 24, 2025.
The Hanoi - Dong Hoi flight (VJ483) departs at 16:35, landing at 5:45 p.m., while the return direction of Dong Hoi - Hanoi (VJ484) departs at 6:15 p.m. and arrives at 7:20 p.m.
Previously, Vietjet Air also announced a plan to deploy 22 charter flights (all-inclusive flights) on the Taipei - Dong Hoi route from March 31, 2025 to March 9, 2026. At the same time, the airline will continue to maintain the Dong Hoi - Ho Chi Minh City route with a frequency of 3 round trips/day, which is expected to increase according to tourism demand.
The reopening of the Dong Hoi - Hanoi route and international charter flights will create favorable conditions for tourists, especially during the peak summer tourism season in 2025. The Taipei - Dong Hoi route will contribute to promoting Quang Binh tourism to the Taiwanese market (China) and opening up opportunities to attract other international flights.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) and Quang Binh province have worked on the project to upgrade Dong Hoi Airport, including building the T2 Passenger Terminal and expanding the aircraft parking lot.
Currently, this airport has exceeded the designed capacity, expected to reach nearly 1 million passengers/year by 2025, requiring infrastructure upgrades to meet development needs.
ACV is committed to completing the stadium expansion before April 30, 2025 and starting construction of Terminal T2 immediately, with an expected construction period of 12-14 months.
