At the Conference summarizing Program No. 03-CTr/TU of the Hanoi Party Committee (term XVII) on " do thi beautification, urban development and urban economy for the period 2021-2025" held on the afternoon of March 20, Chairman of Hoan Kiem District People's Committee Pham Tuan Long said that implementing Program No. 03-CTr/TU, Hoan Kiem has spent a large amount of money to focus on implementing a number of tasks such as renovating and lowering the entire underground power line system in the area.
Currently, the district has completed 100% of the undergrounding of the power cable and information system in the entire old quarter, the old quarter, the Hoan Kiem lake area and its vicinity; the remaining 12 streets in Chuong Duong and Phuc Tan wards have not been implemented due to their involvement in the flood drainage area, and will complete the planning and continue to be implemented in the coming time.
For urban renovation, embellishment and reconstruction, Hoan Kiem has focused on urban design. In the recent period, 25 streets have been submitted to the Department of Planning and Architecture, waiting for the city's approval in the near future.
For Trang Tien Street, the district has mobilized 70 billion VND from socialized sources to renovate all the first-floor stores. The district budget capital is used to renovate the part from the 2nd floor and above. Up to now, Trang Tien Street has a new look.
In addition, the district continues to cooperate with international organizations of France and Germany to restore villas; renovate and embellish them according to public spaces in the area; deploy the roof of Dong Xuan market using solar energy for the operation of the market area.
At the same time, the district has continued to renovate and embellish walking streets, upgrade Cam Chi alley, Tong Duy Tan food street to become a tourist attraction... The alleys, Tam Thuong street, Yen Thai have also had their technical infrastructure renovated to prepare for the development of walking areas in the future.
Chairman of Hoan Kiem District People's Committee Pham Tuan Long said that the district has received tasks assigned by the city, especially to renovate and beautify some areas around Hoan Kiem Lake. In addition to the area north of the lake, including Dong Kinh - Nghia Thuc Square, the area east is a cluster of power projects associated with the headquarters of the Department of Culture and Sports, the area west of Hoan Kiem Lake will continue to be researched and implemented in the coming time.
In addition to the achieved results, there are also issues in the district that are still slow in implementing the renovation of old apartment buildings. In the coming time, the district will continue to focus on this content.
