On the afternoon of December 25, satellite cloud images, weather radar images and lightning positioning showed that the convective cloud area was developing and causing rain with thunderstorms and lightning in all wards/communes of Long Phuoc, Long Huong, Chau Pha, Nghia Thanh, Ngai Giao...
In the next 3 hours, convective clouds will continue to develop, causing showers, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in all of the above wards/communes, then expanding to other neighboring areas. Rainfall is generally from 2-10 mm, in some places over 15 mm. During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind of about level 5-7 (8-17 m/s), heavy rain causing local flooding.
The thunderstorms are caused by the equatorial low pressure trough with an axis of 5-8 degrees North latitude combined with disturbances in the high-altitude East wind zone.
In the next 24-48 hours, the cold air will be stable in intensity after weakening. The equatorial low pressure trough is gradually receding to the South. Above, the subtropical high pressure with an axis through the Central Central region will remain, and the high-altitude East wind disturbance will weaken.
The continental cold high pressure weakens, and is likely to strengthen again around January 2-3, 2026. The Northeast wind will have medium to strong intensity. Above, the subtropical high pressure with an axis through the Central region will operate stably, around December 30-31, it will lower its axis to the South, weaken and gradually retreat to the East.
The weather in the South is dry, humidity decreases, some days have cold weather at night and early morning, and the strong sunshine during the day will affect health.
