Photo: Lam ThanhOn June 22, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Do Trong Lu - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Xuyen Commune said: "Yesterday, high floodwaters caused flooding in many areas in the area. Last night, when the floodwaters receded, they discovered that part of the spillway had been washed away. The locality has reported to the city, and first sent forces to be on duty to ensure safety"."The authorities have been present to direct traffic. People will move across the nearby Binh Son hard bridge to pass through the two communes. This spillway has been there for decades. At the time of the flood, the water level rose, and people and vehicles were also prohibited from passing through," the leader added.
Heavy rain on June 20 and 21 in Thai Nguyen province caused localized flooding in many places. Initially, the authorities determined that there were damage to livestock, agricultural production and infrastructure.
Thai Nguyen has mobilized more than 1,900 officers and soldiers of the military, police, and militia forces, along with 12 motorboats and 16 specialized cars to support people in evacuating from flooded areas, organizing checkpoints and warnings at isolated traffic routes, diverting traffic flows to ensure traffic safety and implementing dyke protection and flood prevention plans.
