Hundred billion VND bridge in Thai Nguyen opens to traffic after 1 year of barriers

The 100 billion Hoa Son bridge across Cau River, connecting Thai Nguyen - Bac Giang, has opened to traffic after nearly a year of being blocked due to lack of access roads.

On November 18, according to the reporter, people and vehicles were able to travel on Hoa Son bridge to go from Pho Yen city (Thai Nguyen) to Hiep Hoa district (Bac Giang) and vice versa.

The asphalt paving has been completed on the Thai Nguyen province side of the road. Workers are currently working on some items such as installing guardrails, signs and traffic safety works on the route.

Mr. Nguyen Bao Ngoc (Hiep Hoa district, Bac Giang province) shared that Hoa Son bridge has been the long-awaited dream of local people for many generations, and its opening has helped save time and travel distance.

"Previously, vehicles from both sides of the locality wanted to move back and forth, they had to take a detour, nearly 10 km further, or take a boat, which could only carry people. At the beginning of last year, the bridge was completed but not yet open to traffic, many people accepted to squeeze through the barrier to go, which was quite dangerous," said Mr. Ngoc.

For the people of Thai Nguyen and Bac Giang provinces, Hoa Son bridge connecting the two banks of Cau river is not only a symbol of the connection between the two provinces but also creates favorable conditions for trade, economic development and ensures safe travel during the rainy season.

According to the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Traffic Works in Thai Nguyen Province, after the road leading to Hoa Son Bridge on the Thai Nguyen side is completed, traffic will also be opened at the same time, ensuring the travel needs of the people.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Tran Van Toan - Chairman of Dong Cao Ward People's Committee (Pho Yen City) said that currently, vehicles can move safely on Hoa Son Bridge.

"Putting the bridge into use will certainly help people travel and trade easily, thereby helping people improve their lives," the leader added.

Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported, although Hoa Son Bridge was completed in early 2024, due to problems with power poles and transformer stations not being relocated and the approach road in Thai Nguyen province not being completed, the authorities had to set up barriers and erect concrete pillars to prevent people and vehicles from moving.
