On December 4, construction units are making efforts to speed up the progress of the overpass project on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street and National Highway 13 passing through Thu Dau Mot Ward and Thuan Giao Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
This is one of the important projects in the construction package No. 3 of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project through Binh Duong area before.
National Highway 13 and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai currently have a large volume of traffic. These two routes often have traffic congestion. When implementing the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project, choosing to build an overpass is the optimal option to ensure vehicles can move smoothly through here.
According to the Binh Duong Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (the investor), the project started on February 2, 2024, with a construction period of 960 days according to the contract, striving to open technical traffic in December 2025.
The construction site is a low-lying terrain section, passing through an area with a stream. This section often experiences localized flooding. When implementing the project, the contractor encountered many difficulties due to the rainy season.
According to records, the project has been under construction for nearly 2 years. To date, the overpass construction section has completed 318 bored piles (reaching 100%), completing 40/40 piers of piers.
The construction contractor has installed girders from the intersection of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street to near National Highway 13, about 1km long, and poured concrete on the bridge surface over this section. Currently, the contractor is installing a girder overpass across National Highway 13.
Construction Corporation No. 1 - JSC (construction contractor) said that the unit has added human resources and expanded construction sites. At the same time, closely coordinate with relevant units to speed up and run the sprint phase. The team of engineers and workers stay at the construction site, maintain the 3-shift - 4-shift construction regime, and increase construction equipment. The company is focusing on speeding up the progress of key items with the goal of ensuring technical traffic opening before December 19, 2025 as required.
