On April 22, the People's Committee of Ha Nam province coordinated with the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order (DAP) of the Ha Nam Provincial Police to organize a conference to deploy the peak of collecting DNA samples of unidentified martyrs in the province and commend organizations and individuals who have actively contributed to collecting DNA samples.
According to Ha Nam Provincial Police, there are still 9,342 martyrs in Ha Nam province whose graves and remains have not been identified; 5,852 martyrs have relatives eligible to collect DNA samples, while 3,490 martyrs have relatives that have not been identified.
On the collected database, the Police Department of Management on Social Security of Ha Nam Province has cooperated with the units of the Police Department of QLHC on Social Security Center, Genestory Company organizes 2 reception of DNA relatives of martyrs in the province with a total of 1,660 samples (relatives of 842 martyrs).
Currently, 7,246 relatives of 5,010 martyrs who have not been identified need to collect DNA samples.
Following the direction of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Public Security and Ha Nam province have opened a peak period of collecting DNA from unidentified martyrs with the goal of completing the collection of all DNA samples for martyrs' relatives before April 30.
Ha Nam Provincial Police have organized 45 centralized sample collection points in districts, towns and cities.
To date, Ha Nam Provincial Police have coordinated with relevant units to collect 3,420 DNA samples that are relatives of over 1,800 martyrs. DNA samples of martyrs' relatives were collected by the testing unit and put into the genetic bank, then analyzed, compared, and verified information with samples of martyrs' remains that have been and are being sought after and collected for samples.
Immediately after the conference, 30 relatives of the martyrs were sampled at the hall of Ha Nam Provincial Police. For cases of weak elderly people and lonely people, there will be a mobile working group to come to the house to collect samples.
