Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant continues to close another floodgate under the order of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Accordingly, at 05:00 on September 23, the upstream water level of Hoa Binh Lake was at 116.79m, the inflow to the lake was 4.14m3/s, and the discharge was 5,658m3/s.

To implement the regulations on the operation process of inter-reservoirs in the Red River basin and to ensure the direction and operation of natural disaster prevention and control, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development ordered the Director of Hoa Binh Hydropower Company to close another bottom spillway gate of Hoa Binh Hydropower Reservoir at 7:00 a.m. on September 23.

At the same time, closely monitor the developments of floods, construction safety, flow to the lake, upstream and downstream water levels of the reservoir, and promptly report to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (through the Department of Dike Management and Disaster Prevention and Control) and relevant agencies as prescribed.

Thus, up to now, Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant is maintaining 1 bottom spillway.

Previously, on September 22, Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant opened three floodgates at 12:00, 13:00 and 15:00. At 1:00 a.m. on September 23, the unit closed one floodgate under the order of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
