As reported, yesterday morning, October 20, the commune received information about the incident of Ms. L.T.K (born in 1999), the mother of a 4-month-old baby, reporting that her son was suspected of falling into the canal. The commune leaders have directed the police sector to directly coordinate with the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Team, Rescue in U Minh Thuong area to coordinate plans to search for the child.

All day yesterday, divers from the professional force and the commune police have been diving and searching within a radius of about 3 km. Mobilizing vehicles including 3 motorbikes and rescue forces, the military and the commune police also continued the search. At the end of yesterday, the child had not been found.
"Yesterday, there were over 20 comrades who directly searched for and rescued, in addition to the front forces and mass organizations who also directly visited the family to encourage visitors. The locality and benefactors have provided immediate support of 10 million VND to the family so that they can temporarily stabilize their lives while the search is being conducted," said Mr. Toan.
