In recent days, many people have reported that the sign pointing to the entrance to Bung - Van Ninh Expressway in Ho Chi Minh Road area, Dong Son Ward (Quang Tri Province) has easily caused confusion for vehicle drivers.
Specifically, at the location preparing to get to the highway turning point, two identical signs appeared, all with the same content as the entrance to Bung - Van Ninh Expressway (500m away), but one sign was posted at the turn to the North and one sign was posted at the South.
When arriving at this area, many drivers were hesitant because they did not know which way to turn. If turning wrongly to the North, the driver must drive another 10km to get to the next landing point in Nam Trach commune, then round the total of nearly 25km to return to the starting point.
On the contrary, if turning mistakenly to the South, the driver must travel more than 20km to get to the next landing point at the intersection between Bung - Van Ninh and Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressways, spending more than 40km if he wants to return to the starting point.
According to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper on the morning of October 21, the two signs are placed several hundred meters apart in two different directions but have the same content, causing many vehicles to slow down, hesitate and confusion about which direction to turn.
In contact with Project Management Board 6 (Ministry of Construction) - the investor of the Bung - Van Ninh expressway project, the representative of the unit said that the placement of directional signs had been agreed upon by the relevant parties. Before these two seas, there were also signs clearly pointing to the North or South.
If there is a need for adjustment, there must be opinions from localities, specifically the Department of Construction of Quang Tri province. At that time, the investor will report to ask for opinions to implement the change.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Truong Chi Trung - Director of the Department of Construction of Quang Tri province said that the Department will re-inspect the system of this area to consider suitable options.
