The Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang Expressway Project Phase 1 is over 104 km long, with a total investment of VND 13,800 billion. After a long period of construction, a highway strip crossing the hills has gradually emerged.
According to PV in early November 2025, thousands of workers and machinery are working on the project at the construction site. The roadbed construction process is being implemented in parallel with the relocation of technical infrastructure, works, and power lines. Some sections of the route are being paved with asphalt.

The 342.9m Ham Yen bridge across the Lo River has been closed. This is the largest bridge out of a total of 22 bridges on the entire route of the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway project.
After the closure, contractors are constructing the bridge deck, building approach roads at both ends of the bridge for bridges on the main route to ensure the conditions for the route to be opened.
According to the report of the Management Board of the Construction Investment Project No. 1, the site clearance work has so far handed over 100% of the site.
Currently, the first and second phases of telecommunications and power lines have been completed; the third phase is expected to be approved, and the two 110kV locations will be completed before November 15.

In 6 construction packages, more than 114 construction teams have been deployed, with 1,058 pieces of machinery and equipment on the route and 1,100 people. The total construction value reached 51.3% of the contract value, 18.7% behind schedule.
For the 8.1km newly built section, the section Km2+715 - Km10+815 is focusing on coordinating with the Land Fund Development Center to carry out inventory work and carry out related work to clear the land (GPMB).

The project strives to complete the roadbed, underpass, culvert and works on the route before November 15. Complete the bridges on the main route (16/22 bridges) before December 19. Complete the 64.5 km asphalt concrete road surface to be eligible for traffic opening on December 19, 2025.
The additional 8.1 km section will select contractors for construction, compensation, and resettlement support for site clearance, ensuring eligibility to start construction on December 19.
When completed, the project will open up opportunities to exploit maximum potential, remove "bottlenecks" in regional traffic. Thereby, creating favorable conditions to connect Tuyen Quang province with other key economic regions.
