When the village loudspeaker speaks
About a month ago, when the clock struck just 7pm, the space of many villages in Le Thuy commune, Quang Tri province had a very unique moment.
From the familiar loudspeaker system, the background music rang gently, followed by a reminder for children to come to the desks. No loudspeak, no orders, just a short reminder but enough for many families to "adjust" their evening life.
The loudspeaker noise has just stopped, in small houses, TVs are down, karaoke is temporarily stopped, adults proactively remind their children to arrange books. From a signal issued in public, "study hours" have gradually become a common habit, not only for students but also for the entire community.
The "Literal Speaker" model was initiated by An Thuy Secondary School, in coordination with local authorities and villages in the commune.
According to Mr. Le Viet Cuong - Principal of An Thuy Secondary School, the school's goal is not simply to remind students to study on time. The deeper goal is to gradually form a sense of self-study, a sense of discipline and responsibility for each family in their children's education.
"When education is not only limited to the classroom but also accompanied by the whole community, the effectiveness will be much more sustainable. That is also the way to put the policy of considering education as the top national policy into daily life, through specific and easy-to-implement actions - Mr. Cuong shared.
This idea, according to Mr. Cuong, was suggested by good models in other localities. Seeing that it was suitable for the actual conditions of the commune, the school boldly proposed and gradually implemented it, receiving consensus from the government and the people.
The whole neighborhood studies together
For students, speaker flute quickly became a familiar time frame. Le Thi Mai Phuong, an 8th grade student at An Thuy Secondary School, recalls that in the past, she often watched TV or used her phone for quite a while in the evening. When there is no reminder, sitting at a desk often depends on parents' reminders.
"Since the loudspeaker was heard, I became more alert. Now I have to arrange my own study books and do all my homework. Thanks to that, I understand the lesson faster when I get to class" - Mai Phuong said.

The loudspeaker does not create pressure but is like a gentle reminder. When the whole group studies at the same time, the children are more motivated and no longer caught up in easily causing entertainment.
Notes from homeroom teachers show that the most noticeable changes are the spirit of self-study and awareness of preparing for the lesson of students being significantly improved. Students proactively sit at the desks on time, prepare their papers, and do their homework. Thanks to that, the quality of classroom hours has improved, students actively participate in building lessons and acquiring knowledge more effectively.
According to Mr. Le Viet Cuong, feedback from the classroom teacher shows that checking old lessons and evaluating the learning process of students as more favorable than before.
Not only students, but parents are also those who feel the change clearly. Mr. Tran Van Cuong, a parent of a student and Head of Loc Thuong Village, said that the loudspeaker helps parents become more aware of their responsibility to accompany their children. At the broadcast time, the whole family reminded their children to study, minimizing noisy activities.
According to Mr. Pham Xuan Cuong - Vice Chairman of Le Thuy Commune People's Committee, "The Speaker of the learning program" is a creative way, close to rural reality, demonstrating the proactive role of grassroots government in concretizing the education policies of the Party and State.
Not showing off or being inexorable, but the perseverance of those simple things has been creating positive changes in community life, laying a long-term foundation for the cause of educating people in the countryside of Le Thuy.
