On the afternoon of August 8, information from the leader of Vinh Loc Commune People's Committee (Hue City), the local government has just coordinated with the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station of Region 6 to destroy 17 pigs infected with African swine fever, with a total weight of nearly 2 tons.
Previously, a livestock household in Luong Vien village discovered unusual signs in the pigs and proactively reported it to the authorities. Immediately after receiving the report, the veterinary team came to collect samples and test them, and at the same time took steps to handle and destroy the sick pigs according to the technical process.
In Vinh Loc commune, there is currently a farm and two slaughterhouses (including one concentrated point and one point managed by households). All three facilities are staffed with permanent veterinarians to conduct clinical examinations before and after slaughter.
"We have increased propaganda and instruct people to conduct biosafety livestock farming, sanitize barns, periodically spray disinfectants, declare livestock farming activities and monitor livestock health. At the same time, resolutely handle violations such as illegal buying, selling, transporting or dumping animal carcasses" - the leader of Vinh Loc Commune People's Committee informed.

Also on August 8, the leader of Thuy Xuan Ward People's Committee (Hue City) said that local authorities have handled the pig carcass discovered by people dumped in the area along Chau Chu Street.
According to the description, the pig's carcass was roughly wrapped in sacks, had a foul smell and was in the process of decomposing. Throwing pigs into the environment not only causes pollution but also poses a risk of spreading pathogens. The authorities have collected, buried and destroyed them in accordance with regulations.
Thuy Xuan ward authorities also recommend that people proactively clean barns and fully vaccinate livestock. When detecting signs of disease or unusual death in livestock and poultry, people need to " timely notify the authorities or veterinary staff" to avoid widespread spread of the disease.
At the same time, increase propaganda through residential groups and social networks to raise people's awareness, absolutely do not throw animal carcasses into the environment.
