On December 17, information from Nam Tam Commune Police, Lai Chau Province said that the unit had just found and brought Giang Van Hieu (born in 2021) lost in the rubber forest to his family safely.
Previously, at around 7:30 p.m. on December 16, Nam Tam Commune Police received an urgent report from the people about a missing child in the area of Rubber Team No. 3.
According to initial verification, in the afternoon of the same day, Ms. Thao Thi Sang (born in 2002, residing in Tua Sin Chai commune) took her son Hieu to work as a hired rubber dao in Nam Lo village, Nam Tam commune.

During Ms. Sang's work, due to negligence, Hieu got lost in the forest. Although the family tried to search around, there were no results.
As soon as the news was received, Nam Tam Commune Police mobilized maximum numbers of soldiers, presided over and coordinated with local forces, rubber farm workers and local people to urgently organize the search. The working groups divided into many teams, carefully reviewing each rubber lot, stream, and cave regardless of the night.
After about 15 hours of searching, at 11:00 a.m. on December 17, the authorities discovered Hieu at the top of the hill (in lot 136, Nam Lo village), about 2.5 km from where he was lost.
At the time of her discovery, Hieu was tired, panicked from hunger and cold, and had many scratches on his body.
The police officers and soldiers of the commune provided first aid, took care of the child, reassured him and took him to the Medical Center for health check-ups. The child's health has now stabilized and he has been handed over to his family.
