On April 4, the People's Committee of Thuan Duc commune (Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province) said that the body of a drowning student had been found in the area.
At about 10:16 p.m. on April 3, the forces found the body of T.T.A (born in 2010, residing in Thuan Hoa village), a student at Thuan Duc Primary and Secondary School, who had drowned in the downstream area of the Phu Vinh Lake spillway.
T.A's body was found right in the area where he had been swimming before.
The authorities have carried out procedures to hand over T.A's body to his family for burial according to local customs.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at around 4:15 p.m. on April 3, T.A went fishing with two friends in the downstream area of the main spillway of Phu Vinh Lake.
After a while fishing, T.A suddenly jumped into the spillway to swim. Seeing that their friend was in danger, the two people who were traveling together immediately jumped down to save him but could not lift him up, then shouted for help from the people.
