In the afternoon of February 4th, a delegation from the Ministry of Construction led by Deputy Minister Pham Minh Ha had a working session with Ca Mau province on issues related to traffic infrastructure development in the province.
Receiving and working with the delegation were Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai; Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Lu Quang Ngoi; Standing Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Lam Van Bi, and leaders of relevant departments and agencies.

At the working session, Ca Mau province proposed that the Ministry of Construction consider supplementing the planning of some expressway routes and upgrading and expanding national highways through the province. In which, it proposed to supplement the expressway connecting the administrative center of Ca Mau - Bac Lieu (formerly) to create a legal basis for project implementation, and at the same time reduce traffic pressure on National Highway 1.
For the Ha Tien - Rach Gia - Bac Lieu expressway, Ca Mau province proposed to consider adjusting the end point of the route, and at the same time synchronously invest in connecting routes with National Highway 1 and coastal routes, contributing to expanding development space, strengthening regional linkages and ensuring national defense and security. For the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway, the province proposed to soon invest in completing the IC11 intersection with DT. 983B route (Lang Tram - Thoi Binh) to improve connectivity and effectively exploit the expressway.

Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai emphasized: Connecting the two urban areas of Ca Mau and Bac Lieu (old) is of particular importance to the socio-economic development of the province. Therefore, Ca Mau province hopes that agencies, departments, and branches under the Ministry of Construction will soon consider and resolve recommendations, creating conditions for localities to accelerate the implementation progress in the coming time.
Also at the working session, many opinions from the delegation of the Ministry of Construction pointed out issues that need to be focused on resolving in the process of proposing the implementation of investment projects in the area. In which, proposals must be linked to provincial planning, regional planning, and at the same time ensure pre-feasibility.
Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Minh Ha proposed: For proposed projects, it is necessary to fully assess the factors to have the right and effective investment step. In addition, Ca Mau province also needs to have specific studies, the decision on how to invest, which type of road is decided and proposed by the province. For the IC11 intersection of the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway, assign the My Thuan Project Management Board to coordinate with Ca Mau province to have appropriate calculation and proposal steps.
The Deputy Minister of Construction also noted that Ca Mau province needs to have close coordination with central ministries and branches to develop planning suitable to the actual situation of the locality, synchronously with central planning, avoiding the situation when the approved plan is ineffective and wastes budget...
