Hoa Binh - Moc Chau Expressway
The Hoa Binh - Moc Chau Expressway section passing through Hoa Binh province (now Phu Tho province) is 34 km long (from Km19 to Km53, starting point at Da Bac commune (old Da Bac town, old Da Bac district), ending point at Van Ho commune, Son La province (Chieng Yen commune, old Van Ho district).
The project started construction at the end of September 2024, with a total investment of nearly 10,000 billion VND, and the project implementation period is from 2022 to 2028.

The project has tunnels and special bridges with towers over 50 m high. In particular, the highlight is the Hoa Son cable-stayed bridge with a main span of 550 m long, tower towers 187 m high, spanning Hoa Binh lake.
After nearly 1 year of construction, as of the second quarter of 2025, the site clearance work has been basically completed. Contractors are organizing many construction teams to dig roadbeds, overpasses, underground sewers, etc. It is expected that important items such as tunnel 1, tunnel 2 and special-grade bridges will be basically completed in 2025, moving towards the opening of phase 1 in 2026.

When the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau Expressway is formed, it will be a "backbone" traffic route, helping to connect the Northwestern provinces such as Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau with the capital Hanoi; reducing the load on National Highway 6; meeting the needs of travel, trade, developing tourism, improving transport capacity... promoting socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the region.
Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway
The Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway has a total length of 265 km, of which more than 102 km passes through Phu Tho province (through the old Phu Tho and Vinh Phuc provinces), with dozens of intersections along the route (from IC2 intersection to IC11).
This expressway started construction in the third quarter of 2008 and was completed on September 21, 2014, Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) is the project investor, with a total initial investment of more than 1.46 billion USD...

For nearly 11 years since its operation, the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway has played an important role in promoting socio-economic development for localities.
The expressway has shortened travel time between the Northwestern provinces and Hanoi, creating favorable conditions for the transportation of goods and raw materials, promoting production and trade.
Along with that, creating an attractive investment environment, attracting businesses to invest and do business in localities along the route, especially industrial parks and border economic zones.

Famous tourist destinations in the Northwest region are more easily connected to Noi Bai Airport, Hanoi Capital, creating conditions for tourists to easily access and experience, contributing to the development of tourism and services...
Inter-regional road worth VND2,120 billion connecting Phu Tho - Lao Cai
The Inter-regional Road project connecting Ho Chi Minh Road with National Highway 70B, National Highway 32C from Phu Tho province to Yen Bai province has a total adjusted investment of VND 2,120 billion, invested by the Department of Construction of Phu Tho province (formerly the Department of Transport).
The main route of the inter-regional road has been opened to traffic for more than 53 km, from Van Xuan commune, Phu Tho province (Lam Son commune, old Tam Nong district) to Tran Yen district, old Yen Bai province (now Lao Cai province).

Currently, the project is implementing the additional "package No. 60: Construction of extended roads" worth nearly 97.6 billion VND, building an extended road from the starting point of the main route (at Km0) to National Highway 32 (at km76+150m near Phong Chau bridge), helping to increase connectivity for this new route.
Since the 53 km main route was opened to traffic, many vehicles from Tran Yen district and the old Yen Bai city have been chosen for traffic, with the direction being the western areas of Hanoi, the old Hoa Binh province, the Ho Chi Minh road to Thanh Hoa...

This billion-dollar project is put into use to help reduce the load on National Highway 32C, create favorable conditions for travel, transportation of goods, connection of industrial parks, tourism development... promote socio-economic development, improve the quality of life of people in Phu Tho and Lao Cai provinces.
