According to the Central Central Region Hydrometeorological Station, on the evening of November 17, storm Man-yi entered the eastern sea area of the North East Sea, becoming storm Man-yi in 2024.
At 1:00 p.m. on November 18, the center of the storm was located at approximately 18.3 degrees North latitude; 117.2 degrees East longitude, in the eastern sea of the North East Sea, approximately 550 km East Northeast of Hoang Sa archipelago. The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 11, gusting to level 14, moving in the West Northwest direction, at a speed of approximately 20 km/h.
To proactively respond to storm Man-yi and minimize damage caused by natural disasters, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of the city requests directors of departments, branches, and chairmen of district and commune People's Committees; heads of agencies and units to continue to strictly implement the Official Dispatch of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City on proactively responding to heavy rains in the coming time and the directives on natural disaster prevention of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City.
Proactively organize close monitoring of forecast information and developments of storm No. 9; promptly direct and deploy response work according to the Plan for Prevention and Overcoming Consequences corresponding to a number of natural disaster scenarios in 2024 in the city.
The City Border Guard Command promptly informs owners of vehicles and boats operating at sea of the location, direction of movement and developments of the storm so that they can proactively avoid it; escape from or not enter dangerous areas; and "call" on boats to urgently come ashore or find safe shelter.
Organize the counting, strictly manage and maintain communication with vessels still operating at sea; focus on guiding and urging fishing vessels to immediately leave dangerous areas; regularly report the situation of vessels to the Command Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of the city.
The City Police Department coordinated with the City Border Guard Command, the Tho Quang Fishing Port and Wharf Management Board and the People's Committees of localities to guide fishermen to implement solutions and measures, and arrange permanent forces for fire prevention and fighting when anchoring boats to avoid storms at Tho Quang Wharf and Man Quang Bay, to prevent fires and explosions; ensure security, order and safety of property.
