On the evening of October 8, many areas in Ho Chi Minh City had widespread heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. According to Lao Dong on Huynh Tan Phat Street (Tan Thuan Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), heavy rain and slippery roads caused a series of motorbikes to fall.

Traffic through the area was congested, moving slowly. Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (residing in Tan Thuan ward) said: "When it was raining heavily, the road was slippery, causing a motorbike to fall and be dragged by the vehicles behind to slide. This section of the road is now quite crowded, so when an incident occurs, it is easy to get congested, said Mr. Hung.

According to records, heavy rain accompanied by high tides at the peak caused the section of Tran Xuan Soan and Huynh Tan Phat streets to be deeply flooded, making it difficult for vehicles to move.
On some streets such as Quoc Huong, Nguyen Duy Trinh, Do Xuan Hop, Phan Huy Ich..., traffic was affected due to deep flooding.

According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, in the next 0-3 hours, thunderstorms will continue to develop, causing showers, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in the above areas, then expanding to other neighboring areas.
Heavy rain combined with high tides caused flooding in low-lying areas, along rivers, affecting traffic and socio-economic activities in the Ho Chi Minh City area.
Beware of thunderstorms accompanied by dangerous weather phenomena such as tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind affecting agricultural production, breaking trees, damaging houses, traffic works and infrastructure.
