Ho Chi Minh City - Passengers taking buses at some major transit points of the City on the morning of the 1st day of Lunar New Year will have the opportunity to receive lucky money at the beginning of the year.

On February 14, the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center said that the unit will implement the "New Year Lucky Money" program to thank passengers and encourage drivers and service staff during the early spring.

The program is held exclusively from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on the 1st day of Lunar New Year (ie February 17, 2026).

During this time frame, bus passengers along with drivers and service staff at transfer points will have the opportunity to receive lucky money envelopes, which are phone scratch cards worth 20,000 VND.

The program is organized directly at two major transfer points including: Saigon Bus Station and Transfer Station on Ham Nghi Street.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center, this is a gift with spiritual meaning, sending wishes for a smooth and convenient new year to people using public transport right from the first day of the year.

Along with the New Year's lucky money activity, the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center coordinates with transport units to implement bus ticket exemption from the 1st to the end of the 3rd day of Tet (February 17 - February 19, 2026).

The free ticket program is applied to 105 subsidized bus routes and non-subsidized bus routes of Phuong Trang Passenger Car Joint Stock Company (FUTA Bus Lines), including: 67, 109, 172, 60-1, 60-3, 60-7 and 63-1.

Metro line No. 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) also applies a free ticket program for 2 days: 29th Tet (February 16, 2026) and the 1st day of Tet (February 17, 2026).
