On June 18, the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Ho Chi Minh City Transport Board) said that it is completing the construction drawing design dossier and related procedures to ensure the commencement progress of the Binh Tien bridge and road project in the third quarter of 2026, to be completed in 2028.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Transport Board, the project area affecting about 441 households needs to carry out compensation, support and site clearance. In addition, many existing technical infrastructure works such as electricity, water supply, information - telecommunications must also be dismantled and relocated to serve construction.
The Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Board is coordinating with the People's Committees of localities including Binh Tien, Phu Dinh, Binh Dong wards and Binh Hung commune and technical infrastructure management units to implement compensation and site clearance according to regulations. The total budget for this work is estimated at more than 3,369 billion VND.

Binh Tien bridge and road project includes two main items: elevated road and parallel road below.
In which, the elevated road (overpass) is about 3.1 km long, with a scale of 4 - 6 lanes, passing through Binh Tien, Phu Dinh, Binh Dong wards and Binh Hung commune.
The route starts from Pham Van Chi street, crosses the Tau Hu canal, goes elevated through Phu Dinh ward, crosses the Doi canal, crosses Nguyen Van Linh street and connects to the National Highway 50 connecting route.
The parallel road section below is more than 3.3 km long, with a scale of 2 - 6 lanes, serving the travel needs of local people and supporting load reduction for the elevated road.
The Binh Tien bridge and road component project alone has a total investment of more than 2,915 billion VND.

Currently, the connection between the central area of Ho Chi Minh City and the South mainly takes place through traffic axes such as Nguyen Huu Tho, Duong Ba Trac, Pham Hung and National Highway 50. However, these roads are often overloaded, especially during peak hours and holidays.
When completed, Binh Tien bridge and road will become an important radial traffic axis, contributing to sharing pressure for the existing road network, strengthening connectivity from the city center to South Saigon area and Hiep Phuoc port area.
At the same time, the project also creates intercommunication with Ring Road 2, Ring Road 3 and Ring Road 4, expanding urban development space and promoting regional linkages in the future.
