According to the People's Committee of Kinh Bac Ward (Bac Ninh Province), from 7:00 a.m. on October 7, about 600 people and the police, military, and security forces at the grassroots level built 600m of embankment with sandbags and wave-breaking tarpaulins to block water.
At 8:00 a.m. on October 8, people in Dau Han area continued to build a dike to prevent water, with an additional 2,500 sacks and 600m of wave tarpaulins.
On the evening of October 8, the flood level of the Cau River is still tending to increase.


The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention of Kinh Bac Ward has directed forces to continue dike protection work with the goal of building a reserve for about 1.8km along the Dau Han dike to prevent water from overflowing into the main dike.
On the night of October 8, dike protection work continued to be vigorously maintained with the participation of ward authorities, mass organizations and a large number of people. In particular, there was the support of more than 100 soldiers of the Defense Command of Region 4 - hap Linh.

Along with that, the local government mobilized nearly 200 officers and soldiers of the Ward Police, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police (Provincial Police) and grassroots security to evacuate, bring people and property, especially the elderly and children to safety, while providing and supporting necessary necessities, contributing to protecting the safety of people's lives, health and property.
The military forces of the 673rd Air Defense Brigade of the 12th Army Corps stationed in Lang Giang and Bac Ninh have also been strengthened to support the construction of sandbags to prevent the Dau Han dike from overflowing.

Up to this point, people in Qua Cam, Duong Xa 1, Duong Xa 2 and Dau Han neighborhoods have been safe.
The area in the Dau Han dike is home to about 2,000 people. If there is a dike overflow, people's lives and property will be affected, and the entire main dike system of Kinh Bac ward will be threatened.
In the face of the situation where the water level of Cau River continues to rise, Mr. Ta Dang Doan, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the Kinh Bac Ward Party Committee, requested the Ward Disaster Prevention Command to continue maintaining a 24/7 duty regime.

Grasp the water level developments every hour; update and report promptly so that ward leaders have a plan to direct close to the situation. Organizations, residential areas, especially on-site shock forces, need to promote their core role, actively participate in being on duty, protecting the dike, and not being passive in any situation.
At noon on October 8, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh inspected the scene and directed the recovery of flood consequences in Bac Ninh.
The report of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province at noon on October 8 said that the dykes in Bac Ninh province have 36 vulnerable locations, 2 works are under construction; 2 incidents have occurred.
Initial statistics show that floods have killed 3 people (2 people swept away by floods; 1 person was hit by lightning); 402 houses were damaged and damaged; 2,984 hectares of agricultural land were flooded.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, it is likely that this morning, the floods of Cau and Thuong rivers will peak, in which the flood peak at Dap Cau station will exceed the three-way warning by 0.9 m, at Phu Lang Thuong station will be about 0.18 m above the historical flood level.
