On the afternoon of October 8, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Ha (40 years old, An Khanh, Hanoi) walked from Thang Long Capital apartment building to her workplace, which is the townhouse in the A Geleximco Le Trong Tan area, to check the flooding situation here.

"The water was deeply submerged into the first floor, many items, items, and equipment on the first floor were soaked with water, some were damaged. This area is still cut off from electricity" - Ms. Ha said and texted the company's leaders to report the situation to have a suitable plan to arrange personnel for work.

Ms. Ha's company is working on real estate communication content. In the past two days, Ms. Ha's workplace has been deeply flooded, and the company has had to work online at home.
Just nearly a week ago, this area was also deeply flooded. After heavy rains caused flooding, mud, and garbage to overflow into the first floor area, Ms. Ha and 10 others in the company together cleaned up.

The villa - where Ms. Ha is working is just one of dozens of villas and townhouses that are deeply submerged in water in the new urban area of Le Trong Tan.

According to Lao Dong reporter, on the afternoon of October 8, at the A Geleximco Le Trong Tan area (at the beginning of Hoang Tung Street, intersecting with Thang Long Avenue), the water was above knee, mostly over 60cm, in some places nearly 1m deep.
Deeply flooded parking lots and yards are common problems in this area. People wade through the water, some used steam boats to move through deeply flooded areas.

In Nam An Khanh urban area (An Khanh commune), Ms. Hoang Thi Quy shared that this is the third flooding this year.
Every time there is heavy rain, this area becomes an oasis. People often joke that this is "An Khanh Bay". This time the flood, the water rose to half a meter from the house floor" - Ms. Quy shared.

According to Ms. Quy, in the adjacent houses and the villa area, many homeowners have taken measures such as building sandbags, spreading tarpaulins, and installing large water suction machines. When the water overflows, turn on the pump immediately to avoid damaging the furniture.

According to a real estate consultant in this area, the prices of townhouses and villas in and around Nam An Khanh urban area are currently being advertised for sale at around 200-220 million VND/m2. The value of townhouses and villas ranges from 15 billion to 25 billion VND, some of which are even advertised for sale at over 30 billion VND.
"The prices of townhouses and villas have cost millions of dollars, increasing sharply in recent times, especially since 2020, when the real estate market has warmed up" - this broker said.
On the afternoon of October 8, a representative of the Hanoi Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Board said that as of 3:00 p.m., there were a total of 62 flooded locations in Hanoi, of which 49 were still flooded and 13 were deeply flooded and unable to circulate.
