On the morning of July 23, Mr. Vu Manh Dinh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoi Phu Ward, Gia Lai Province - said that the unit had directed the authorities to organize the collection of all dead and rotten pigs on the bank of Hoi Phu stream canal.
Previously, people reported the discovery of many dead pigs floating on Hoi Phu stream in a densely populated area. On the night of July 22 and early morning of July 23, the People's Committee of Hoi Phu Ward mobilized many militia, veterinary officers, police... to the scene to salvage, bury, and destroy them in accordance with regulations.
"Currently, the ward police are extracting cameras around the area to find out who threw the dead pigs into the ditch. At the same time, coordinate with neighboring communes and wards to inspect and verify. If the subject is found to be dumping dead pigs, they will be strictly handled according to the law," said Mr. Vu Manh Dinh.

Previously, on the afternoon of July 20, people also reported to the commune authorities about the discovery of a dead pig, suspected of being sick, thrown on the road in Gao commune.
Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang - Chairman of the People's Committee of Gao commune - directed the authorities to organize the burial of dead pigs. The commune police are investigating and searching for people or livestock farms that threw dead pigs onto the road.
At the same time, communes and wards sent officials to villages and hamlets to propagate and encourage people not to arbitrarily dump dead pigs, causing environmental pollution and epidemics.
In the face of the complicated developments of the African swine fever epidemic, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province requires communes and wards to coordinate with the livestock, veterinary and police sectors to promptly detect and handle violations.
Absolutely do not let the situation of hiding epidemics, slaughtering, transporting or trading sick pigs happen. The act of throwing the pigs into the environment will be strictly handled.
