Therefore, this time, my wife and I have prepared very carefully for the trip to the capital. My wife is also a veteran, participating in protecting the northern border in 1979", Mr. Truong said.
Mr. Truong and his wife traveled more than 200km from Lang Son to Hanoi from August 31, staying at a relative's house in Ha Dong. On September 1, both men and women visited the exhibition at the National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh.
At 3am on September 2, Mr. Truong and his wife were taken by their children from Ha Dong to Nguyen Thai Hoc Street to enter the parade viewing area dedicated to veterans.
"Due to the large number of guests, the organizing committee only prioritizes veterans with away cards and invitations, so we cannot go inside. But today, being present in Hanoi, in the atmosphere of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the National Day, witnessing the remarkable development of the country, the solidarity and spirit of the entire people, we feel satisfied," said Mr. Truong.
