In the period of 2021 - 2025, sustainable poverty reduction is always a key, regular and long-term task of the entire political system in the commune. The emulation movement "For the poor - No one is left behind" was launched and widely implemented, mobilizing the participation of the entire political system, business community and philanthropists inside and outside the province.
To achieve the goal of rapid and sustainable poverty reduction, Mu Cang Chai has innovated thinking, thinking, and working methods, synchronously implementing many practical, creative, and effective solutions. In particular, the commune has proactively innovated the approach to sustainable poverty reduction, placing poor households and poor people in the subjects of poverty reduction activities, taking the development of the poor and poor households as the center in poverty reduction programs and projects.
Along with that, the commune has promoted and improved the effectiveness of propaganda and mobilization to arouse the will to be self-reliant, self-reliant, and aspirate to escape poverty; eliminate the mentality of poor households relying on the help of the State and the community...
Poverty reduction policies are directed and implemented synchronously and effectively, especially policies directly related to infrastructure investment, support for production development, education, healthcare, culture, housing, etc., creating conditions and motivation for poor households to improve their lives and escape poverty.
In the period of 2021 - 2025, the commune has effectively implemented many practical poverty reduction models such as: "Weekend with poor members", "Weekend with the people", developing 4 production linkage projects according to the value chain associated with product consumption, 3 projects supporting community production; expanding the model of raising buffalo, cows, goats, black chickens in the locality, growing moderate fruit trees and medicinal plants. The commune has created new jobs for 349 workers, raising the rate of trained workers to more than 67%, of which 43% have degrees and certificates.
Thanks to the effective implementation of policies on health, education, housing, and clean water, Mu Cang Chai has eliminated dilapidated houses for 448 households, supported the care and nurturing of more than 3,000 boarding students and preschools, contributing to reducing the rate of malnourished children under 5 years old to 15.5%. The rate of poor households has decreased by an average of over 8%/year; to date, the whole commune has only 21.5% of poor households and 5.8% of near-poor households.
Emulation and reward work is focused on, creating strong motivation in the community. In the past period, the commune had 3 collectives and 7 individuals rewarded for their achievements in poverty reduction; 18 households were commended for their exemplary achievements in escaping poverty.
Entering the new period of 2025 - 2030, Mu Cang Chai commune continues to identify poverty reduction as a key political task, associated with building new rural areas, developing community tourism and preserving national cultural identity; promoting vocational training, labor export; mobilizing social resources and encouraging effective production models, creating sustainable livelihoods for people, contributing to increasing income, improving life, and sustainable poverty reduction.
