Da Nang is covered in colorful flags and flowers, celebrating National Day
On the morning of September 2, in the bustling atmosphere of the whole country celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day (1945 - 2025), all streets of Da Nang were covered with red flags with yellow stars.
From the early morning, many families and generations with the national flag in their hands, eagerly flock to cultural houses and concentrated areas. In particular, many veterans in reinforced military uniforms, young volunteers wearing soldier uniforms, walking alongside the youth class become a beautiful image, reminiscent of the continuation of traditions between generations.


At the live broadcast points of the parade and parade from Ba Dinh Square (Hanoi), thousands of Da Nang people gathered to watch. Recorded at Nam Duong Park (Hai Chau Ward), the solemn and emotional atmosphere spread. Under the big screen, the eyes are busy, the hands are tight, many old people and young people cannot hide their separation when witnessing the mighty army walking through the Historical Square.
Mr. Huynh Van Bau, a 71-year-old veteran in Hai Chau ward, emotionally shared: "Every National Day, we seem to relive the heroic memories of the nation. Today, seeing the young generation radiant under the national flag, my heart is even more confident".

Ms. Tran Thi Lan, a former youth volunteer, emotionally said: Independence Day is the biggest festival. We have gone through bombs and bullets, and we are increasingly appreciating the value of today's peace. Seeing Da Nang covered with the flags and flowers, I was extremely moved".
Among that brilliant generation, the younger generation also carries their own pride. Le Uyen Nhi, 20 years old, a union member of Da Nang City, excitedly said: "Coming out on the road with Veterans and former cooperatives on the occasion of the National Day, we feel grateful, proud and even more responsible for the country".
Independence Tet - memories and aspirations
Not only at the bridge points, many families in Da Nang also gathered by TV to watch the parade step by step. In a small house in Hoa Khanh ward, the family of veteran Trinh Van Tham - a soldier of the ancient Truong Son village - woke up at 5am to watch the parade.
At the age of 74, Mr. Tham could not hide his pride: "Seeing the parade today, my heart was filled with joy. When we were young, we only had backpacks, guns, and bullets that exceeded Truong Son in the bombs. Now that the country is peaceful and developed, I am proud to have also contributed a small part to this independence.

Next to him was his wife Do Thi Hoa (67 years old) who was also choked up: "Seeing the country today, I am both moved and grateful to those who have sacrificed, including my husband's teammates. Our family always reminds our children and grandchildren to live worthy lives, respect independence and freedom.
Ms. Cao Thi Huyen Tran - Secretary of the Party Committee of Hai Chau Ward, Da Nang City shared: "All over Da Nang, everywhere you can see the brilliant red color of the Fatherland, see faith and aspiration. The independent New Year is not only a memory of the past, but also a source of motivation for the people of the city on the Han River to continue building an increasingly beautiful and civilized homeland".
