Implemented from October 2023 and completed in January 2025, the project to upgrade the Tien Hoi - Hoang Nong inter-commune road (Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen) has a total investment of nearly 78 billion VND from the district budget and other legal capital sources.
The route is 8.7km long, starting from Km0 (intersecting with National Highway 37 at Km155+360) and ending at Km8+729.82, in the area of the three-way intersection into Cua Tu Tourist Area, Hoang Nong Commune.
Previously, the road was designed according to grade VI mountainous standards, the road surface in some sections was narrow and difficult to travel. After upgrading to the standard of a grade IV mountainous road, the road has a foundation width of 7.5m, a road surface of 5.5m, a design speed of 40km/h, ensuring more convenience and safety.

On March 14, the reporter noted that after more than 1 year of construction, the entire Tien Hoi - Hoang Nong road project has been completed, with vehicles moving smoothly.
The road surface is paved with asphalt, some routes are expanded to small, narrow sections. The drainage system, warning signs... and other auxiliary items have also been completed, ensuring traffic safety.
As one of the households with a house near the road, Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh (Dai Tu) shared that in the past, every time it rained, the road was muddy and slippery, and when it was sunny, dust flew everywhere, especially when trucks passed by.
"Since the road was renovated, everything has changed completely. The road is spacious, airy, and no longer has potholes like before. People riding motorbikes and cars is much more convenient" - Mr. Tinh said.
Not only local people, but also traders who regularly travel on this route feel the change.
Ms. Hoang Thi Lan, a tea purchaser in Hoang Nong commune, said that in the past, it was very difficult to buy tea every time she went to buy tea because the road was many narrow, degraded sections.
"Now that the road is completed, vehicles can travel more easily, transportation time is shortened, and especially no longer have to struggle to avoid potholes or dust like before" - Ms. Lan said.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phu - Vice Chairman of Tien Hoi Commune People's Committee shared that the completion of the project has met the expectations of the local Party Committee, government and people.
The new, spacious road makes travel and trade more convenient and synchronous with the transportation system being invested in, contributing to changing the face of rural areas and promoting the socio-economic development of the region.
