From October 18, the Hanoi Department of Construction will pilot traffic organization adjustment in the area of Nguyen Khang Street (from Cot Bridge to 235 Nguyen Khang House), Yen Hoa Ward.
This is an area with high traffic density, often experiencing congestion during rush hour due to narrow road surfaces and rapid increase in vehicle traffic volume in recent times.
According to the pilot plan, the above road section will be organized for one-way traffic. The pilot period starts from October 18, 2025 to January 18, 2026.

According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper on the afternoon of October 20 and during the morning rush hour of the same day, the traffic situation here was relatively stable after the pilot adjustment of traffic organization.
Police and traffic inspectors were present at the scene to direct traffic and help people travel conveniently.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Son (55 years old, Yen Hoa ward, Hanoi) said that during rush hour, cars and motorbikes traveling in two directions opposite each other were the main cause of traffic jams, greatly affecting people's movement.
After a pilot period of one-way traffic organization, the traffic congestion situation in this area has improved significantly, especially during rush hour this morning.
I fully support maintaining the one-way traffic plan on this route because of the positive benefits it brings, said Mr. Son.

Mr. Le Hong Hai (security of an agency on the pilot one-way traffic route) said that in the past, motorbikes, cars and three-wheeled vehicles traveling in opposite directions often occurred, causing cramped and serious congestion.
"Since the one-way traffic was applied, the road has become more open, and traffic congestion has decreased significantly. This is especially beneficial for agencies and units with a large number of staff regularly traveling on this route as well as people in the area" - Mr. Hai said.
Mr. Hai said that in the first days of the pilot program, many people were confused because they had not paid attention to the signs and had been reminded by the authorities.
He also suggested that the authorities strictly handle if people deliberately go in the wrong direction, causing congestion and traffic accidents in the coming time.
In fact, adjusting traffic organization will force many people to change their travel route, but the majority support a new traffic diversion to reduce traffic congestion.

The Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Board (Hanoi Department of Construction) said that during the pilot period, this agency will monitor and evaluate the traffic situation on the route and area to promptly propose and report to the Department's leaders to adjust the traffic organization plan accordingly.
The Department of Construction requested the People's Committee of Yen Hoa Ward to direct the ward police force to arrange human resources to coordinate with the Department of Transport Inspection (Department of Construction), Traffic Police, Hanoi City Police to regulate, guide, and divert traffic to avoid congestion; at the same time, inspect and handle violations of traffic safety and order, encroachment on sidewalks and roads to do business, and illegal parking causing traffic insecurity on roads around the intersection area.
