On August 15, An Hai Border Guard Station (Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard) said that the unit had just rescued 5 fishermen whose boat sank while fishing for ocean tuna.
According to An Hai Border Guard Station, while fishing, the boats of the 5 fishermen hit the reef, were damaged and partially submerged. The fishermen reported to the border police station for support.
Because the boat only partially sank, the fishermen did not fall into the sea. As soon as the news was received, the authorities coordinated with other fishermen to rescue people and vehicles in distress.
Previously, on the morning of August 14, An Hai Border Guard Station received a report that the fishing boat owned and captained by Mr. Nguyen Van Tau (residing in Hoai Nhon Bac ward, Gia Lai province) had an accident about 1 nautical mile from the coast.
After receiving the report, An Hai Border Guard Station mobilized vehicles and sent 5 officers and soldiers to the area of the fishing boat in distress to carry out rescue work, bringing the 5 fishermen on board safely to shore.
By the afternoon of the same day, An Hai Border Guard Station continued to send vehicles and forces to the sea to support pulling the fishing boat to shore.
Currently, the damaged fishing boat has been towed by a rescue boat captained by Mr. Cao Van Tho (residing in Khanh Hoa province) to Quy Nhon port for repair.
