On November 15, Mr. Nguyen Hong The (in Phong Nha town, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province) said that he had just been attacked by a douc langur while traveling on the road.
At around 8am on November 14, Mr. The was riding his motorbike in Phong Nha town when suddenly a douc langur rushed out and scratched his back, causing him to fall off his motorbike.
After that, he disinfected and took antibiotics to ensure his health.
Regarding the incident, Phong Nha Town People's Committee said that they have learned about the black langur that has been on the road recently.
Initial information shows that in recent days, black langurs have been recorded on the streets in Xuan Tien and Cu Lac 1 residential groups (Phong Nha town). After receiving the information, the town People's Committee is sending forces to the location where the langurs were on the streets.
On the morning of November 15, the People's Committee of Bo Trach district said that after receiving information from the town, the district requested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the district and the Forest Protection Department of Bo Trach district to have a handling plan.
The plan is to anesthetize the animal by shooting it, then move it deep into the forest to release it.
