On September 4, the Department of Health of Gia Lai province said that after the food poisoning incident in Ia Hiao commune, the Food Safety and Hygiene Department established a team to inspect a business household providing food to people in chroh Pon village.
The inspection team discovered that the business household of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien (Thanh Binh village, Ia Hiao commune) had committed many violations, including: doing business in food services without a certificate of food safety eligibility; The owner of the business did not have a certificate of food safety training;
There are not enough processing, preservation and unuseable tools for fresh and processed foods; do not ensure cross-contamination prevention between unprocessed and cooked foods...
The delegation has administratively fined the above violations with a total amount of 35 million VND. The facility was also suspended from all food and beverage service business activities for 2 months.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on August 28, Mr. Ksor Doi's family (residing in Ia Hiao commune) held a family feast with about 220 guests, served by Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien's business household. The menu includes many dishes such as: baguettes, leaf sausage, beef stewed with grated pork, chicken turned honey, beef stew, seafood hotpot, sticky rice...
At around 6pm the same day, many people had symptoms of abdominal pain, vomiting, fever, diarrhea. Then, by August 29, a total of 151 patients with similar symptoms had to be hospitalized at Phu Thien and Ayun Pa Medical Centers.
Currently, many patients have stabilized their health and have been discharged after doctors and nurses actively treated them.
