On the afternoon of October 28, Lieutenant Colonel Vo Chi Cong - Head of Dien Ban Tay Commune Police (Da Nang City) - confirmed that a suspected gas poisoning incident had just occurred in the area due to a power may that took 8 people to the emergency room, of which 4 had died.
According to initial information, at around 10:00 a.m. on October 28, Mr. N.Q.T - a relative of the family - called Mr. Nguyen Quang Lanh (born in 1989, residing in Phong Thu 1 Residential Group, Dien Ban Tay Commune) many times but could not contact him. Suspecting something was wrong, Mr. T went to the house, called the door but no one answered, and had to break the rear ventilation door to enter.

Entering inside, Mr. T was shocked to discover 8 people including: 7 members of Mr. Lanh's family (mother, Mr. Lanh and his wife with 4 young children aged 5 - 14) and a friend of Mr. Lanh lying unconscious, suspected of suffocating from CO gas.
Immediately afterwards, Dien Ban Tay Commune Police and local people quickly took the victims to Cam Le Hospital and Tam Tri Hospital for emergency care. However, due to severe gas poisoning, 4 people did not survive.
The remaining four victims were transferred to the hospital in poor prognosis, including 1 person to Da Nang Hospital, 1 person to Hospital C and 2 young children transferred to Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital for further treatment.
Initial investigation results show that on the evening of October 27, Dien Ban Tay commune lost power due to floods. Mr. Lanh's family used a generator to turn on the lights and turn on the air conditioners while sleeping, preventing emissions from leaking, leading to gas poisoning.
The case is being investigated by the Investigation Police Agency of Area 3, in coordination with the Procuracy of Area 10, the Criminal Techniques Department and Dien Ban Tay Commune Police, for the scene investigation and investigation of the cause.
Identities of the 8 victims:
- Mr. Nguyen Quang Lanh (36 years old).
- Ms. Phan Thi Tu Trinh (Mr. Lanh's wife, 33 years old).
- Children: Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy (14 years old), Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc (11 years old), Nguyen Thi Thanh Thao (8 years old) and Nguyen Cong Trung (5 years old).
- Mrs. Nguyet (75 years old, Mr. Lanh's mother) and a friend of Mr. Lanh (19 years old).
