On March 26, speaking with Lao Dong reporter, the leader of the People's Committee of Hoa Khanh Nam ward, Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city said that the unit had received feedback from people about hundreds of tons of sludge discovered buried at the site of the 650 tons/day and night incineration plant project.
According to people's reflection, in the past few days, they have witnessed trucks carrying black mud and dirt giving off a foul smell pouring down on the project area. The image of trucks carrying mud makes people worried about the risk of environmental pollution, especially when this location is right next to the waste treatment plant project.
Mr. Pham Van Lam, Vice Chairman of Hoa Khanh Nam Ward People's Committee affirmed: "Always convenient for leveling the ground, the construction unit has also filled the surface with organic fertilizer so that trees can be planted in the future. The ward also came to check the incident immediately after receiving feedback from the people".
According to Mr. Lam, the specific volume of organic fertilizer buried at this location is still unknown.

The solid waste Incineration Plant project generates 650 tons of electricity per day and night, formed in 2010. In 2014, the project was approved for a second policy and in 2016 the project progress was adjusted. In 2019, the project was proposed a number of policies related to technological innovation. In 2023, this project was also granted a third adjustment certificate by the Department of Planning and Investment.
At the question-and-answer session on December 13 of the Da Nang City People's Council meeting at the end of 2024, the Da Nang City People's Committee directed investors to urgently complete documents, start construction in the first quarter of 2025 and commit to completing and putting them into use in the third quarter of 2026.
