On the morning of July 12, An Giang Provincial People's Committee held a meeting on the work of overcoming the consequences of the canoe capsizing that occurred at noon on July 11 in Phu Quoc special zone. Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung chaired the meeting.
Attending the online meeting at the Phu Quoc special zone bridge point were Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Xuan Sang and representatives of leaders of agencies and departments of Phu Quoc special zone.
At the working session, the Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee sent his deepest condolences to the families of the victims, and thanked the attention and timely direction of Party and State leaders, central ministries and branches, and the efforts of the forces participating in the search and rescue. The Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee requested units to focus on performing key tasks after the incident.
In parallel with overcoming the consequences, the Provincial Police agency closely coordinated to immediately deploy the investigation and verification of the cause of the incident accurately, decisively and with a clear conclusion.
Because the incident is related to foreign factors, the presiding units coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to effectively implement foreign affairs, welcome relatives, support interpreters and arrange accommodation and transportation thoughtfully. For the deceased victims, the bodies have been moved and relatives have been received right in Ho Chi Minh City under the advice of the Department of Tourism.

In terms of funding, the Provincial People's Committee, together with the Department of Finance and the Department of Tourism, coordinate to propose flexible budget sources, aiming for the highest goal of providing the best support in both material and spiritual terms for victims, protecting the tourism and diplomatic image of the locality.
According to local information, up to this point, the health of the injured passengers being treated in Phu Quoc is basically stable. This morning, the Phu Quoc special zone government supported bringing 15 bodies of unfortunate victims back to the mainland, carrying out handover procedures according to regulations.
Immediately after the serious canoe capsizing in the An Thoi sea area (Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province) at noon on July 11, the work of mobilizing forces, racing against time to provide emergency care and health care for victims who are Indian nationals has been deployed at the highest level.
