The 4-day New Year holiday 2026 makes the number of tourists flocking to the highlands of Tuyen Quang increasing day by day. Many resorts and homestays announce rooms out of stock, even fully booked until the Lunar New Year.
Recorded by PV on January 2nd, most of the beautiful and famous homestays in Dong Van, Meo Vac, Lung Cu were out of rooms on January 1st and January 2nd.
Room rates have also increased significantly, on normal days some rooms are priced at about 450,000 VND, now some agents resell 850,000 VND and sell out quickly. Currently, resorts have a variety of rooms, prices range from 600,000 VND to 1.4 million VND.

In Du Gia commune, famous accommodation establishments such as Pachidua Ecolodge, Cheers Ecolodge have been fully booked during the New Year and Lunar New Year, with occupancy after the 1st day reaching nearly 90%.
Representatives of In Homestay & Cafe Ha Giang said that the establishment is fully booked for the New Year holiday and only a few rooms are left waiting for customers to finalize the Lunar New Year schedule.
Resorts, homestays, and 3-star hotels mainly focus on domestic customers. Meanwhile, the international customer segment mainly stays in 4-5 star hotels with nearly weekly room occupancy.
Mr. Quoc Nam (a tourist from Hanoi) said that his family decided to travel to Tuyen Quang during the New Year holiday, so they booked rooms 1 month in advance at a price of 600,000 VND/day. At that time, some homestays also announced that they were fully booked.

Now coming to the highlands of Ha Giang, I see a very large number of tourists. Some people who cannot rent homestays in the central area have to accept staying far away, rooms serve self-sufficient guests.
Finding a room is a bit hard, but in return you get beautiful experiences in the rocky plateau," Mr. Nam said.
On January 2, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Tran Duc Chung - Chairman of Lung Cu Commune People's Committee said that yesterday the locality welcomed more than 3,000 tourists, 106 guesthouses and homestays in the area with more than 1,000 rooms booked by customers since November.
Today, the number of visitors flocking to tourist destinations in the locality is still very large. Tomorrow is the opening of the Cherry Blossom Festival. Today I have to directly direct traffic diversion forces and control the situation in the area as well as goods prices. Currently, there are no problems arising.
Some resorts and homestays have had guests book for the Lunar New Year holiday," the leader added.

Similar to the situation of full rooms, finding passenger cars from Hanoi to the highlands of Tuyen Quang is also difficult. The number of tickets must be booked many months in advance to arrive on time for holidays. If booked at the last minute, tickets are almost sold out.
Representatives of Bang Phan bus company said that the number of New Year's Day passengers this year is 20% more than the same period last year. At peak times of crowded passengers on the evening of December 31st, January 1st, the bus company served an average of about 500 people per day.
The large number of tourists during this year's New Year holiday partly comes from the success of Tuyen Quang's tourism industry in 2025. A series of resorts and homestays here have won prestigious international tourism awards. In 2025, Tuyen Quang welcomed over 3.9 million visitors, revenue of 10,000 billion VND, reaching 109% of the annual plan.
In 2026, the locality aims to welcome over 4.1 million domestic and international tourists. Tuyen Quang continues to identify tourism development as one of the key tasks, towards green, sustainable, professional and rich in identity development.
