Water discharge from Chi Khe hydroelectric reservoir with a flow of up to 1,000m3/s from the evening of November 1

QUANG ĐẠI |

Nghe An - The reservoir of Chi Khe Hydropower Plant will release water to regulate from 7:30 p.m. on November 1, with an expected flow from 506m3/s to 1,000m3/s.

On the afternoon of November 1, the Nghe An Provincial Civil Defense Command announced that the reservoir of Chi Khe Hydropower Plant (Chi Khe Commune, Con Cuong) will release water to regulate from 7:30 p.m. the same day.

Accordingly, Chi Khe Hydropower Joint Stock Company will operate the regulation of reservoir water to ensure the safety of the project and comply with the approved single-stream and inter-stream operation procedures in the Ca River basin.

According to the plan, the expected discharge flow is from 506m3/s to 1,000m3/s (including discharge through the spillway and power generation through the dam), depending on the actual amount of water flowing into the lake.

The discharge will end when the water flow to the reservoir is equivalent to the power generation flow through the generators.

The Provincial Civil Defense Command requests the People's Committees of localities downstream of the Ca River such as Con Cuong, Anh Son, Do Luong, Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen, Nghi Loc, Vinh City and Cua Lo Town, along with relevant departments and branches to urgently notify agencies, units, investors, waterway vehicles and people to proactively respond and ensure the safety of people and property.
