Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Thinh has just signed Plan No. 56/KH-UBND to implement the Investment Project to build a road connecting Gia Binh Airport, Bac Ninh province with Hanoi Capital (section through Bac Ninh province).
The investment project to build a road connecting Gia Binh Airport with the capital Hanoi (through Bac Ninh province) is a project on the list of important national projects and works.
The implementation of the Project not only forms a strategic traffic route, creating an important connection between Gia Binh Airport and the National transport network but also contributes to the completion of the regional infrastructure system, strengthening socio-economic development linkages between localities.
At the same time, it helps improve transport capacity, promote socio-economic development, ensure national defense and security and create a premise for other key infrastructure projects.
According to the Plan issued by the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, for BT projects, complete project approval (since approving selected Investors in special cases) before September 24, 2025.
After that, the site clearance for agricultural land will be completed and handed over to the Investor before December 21, 2025; site clearance for non-agricultural land (residential land, constructions on land...), handover to the Investor before February 21, 2026; construction of resettlement areas for site clearance will be completed before July 21, 2026.
Construction, renovation and expansion of cemetery areas serving the transfer of graves and mounds will be completed before January 2, 2026 (striving to complete before the winter solstice); relocation and return of technical infrastructure works to serve site clearance before February 21, 2026. Construction of the project will be completed before December 31, 2026.
Pursuant to the Project Implementation Plan, agencies, units, localities and project investors are responsible for arranging the apparatus, personnel, and implementing the Project's processes and procedures.
Along with that, closely coordinate, promptly resolve difficulties and problems, ensure progress, quality and efficiency.
It is known that the investment project to build a road connecting Gia Binh airport to Hanoi capital (section passing through Bac Ninh province) has a total length of 27.7km passing through 8 communes and wards, including: Trung Kenh commune, Luong Tai commune, Gia Binh commune, Lam Thao commune, Tram Lo ward, Mao Dien ward, Thuan Thanh ward, Tri Qua ward (Bac Ninh province).
The route is invested according to the standards of a grade I plain road, with a design speed of 120km/h, and a parallel road with a speed of 60-80km/h. The construction scale according to the plan is 10 lanes and there are roads on both sides. The total investment is over VND 47,607 billion.
The starting point of the project is at km0 at the eastern intersection of the road connecting to Gia Binh airport, in Trung Kenh commune (Bac Ninh). The end point is about km27+700 at the beginning of the Duong River bridge, Tri Qua ward (Bac Ninh), bordering Phu Dong commune, Hanoi.
On the route, 6 cross-over bridges are arranged at locations intersecting with provincial roads, national highways or planned roads.
About 40 km from Hanoi, Gia Binh International Airport (Bac Ninh) started construction in December 2024 with a total area of nearly 1,900 hectares. According to the plan, the airport will be basically completed and initially put into operation from the end of 2026 to serve the 2027 APEC Summit.
By 2050, the airport's capacity will reach about 50 million passengers/year and 2.5 million tons of cargo/year.
