As reported by Lao Dong, recently, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the inter-level primary and secondary boarding school in the mountainous commune of Bat Mot, about 120 km west of the center of Thanh Hoa province.
Bat Mot Inter-level Boarding School and Secondary School is one of the inter-level schools built according to the Conclusion of the Politburo on the investment policy to build inter-level boarding schools and secondary schools in 248 communes on the land border, in which the pilot investment is to build new or renovate 100 schools in 2025; at the same time, it is one of the large-scale, meaningful projects that were started and inaugurated on this occasion to celebrate the 20th Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.
Implementing Conclusion No. 81 of the Politburo, Thanh Hoa province has urgently surveyed, compiled a list and proposed to invest in 21 educational projects in 16 border communes in the period of 2025-2026, with a total investment of about 1,590 billion VND. Of which, in 2025, it is expected to start construction of 6 projects with a total capital of about 767 billion VND; in 2026, 15 projects with a total capital of about 823 billion VND will continue to be started.
Bat Mot commune is a mountainous commune, bordering Thanh Hoa province, with more than 17 km of border adjacent to Laos, about 120 km from the center of Thanh Hoa province. Located in a remote border area, the commune has rugged terrain, and the lives of people still face many difficulties. The commune has a natural area of 205.7 km2 (the largest in the province), with a population of 4,052 people, of which the Thai ethnic group accounts for over 96%.
There are currently 3 general schools (2 primary schools, 1 secondary school) with 25 classes, 616 students. The new facilities have been invested in some basic items, not meeting the criteria according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. The whole commune has more than 600 students, but the school is still dispersed, making it very difficult to travel, the facilities for teaching and learning are still lacking, many items have degraded, and learning conditions are still limited.
The project to build a boarding school for primary and secondary schools in Bat Mot is implemented according to specific mechanisms and policies to implement investment according to the Government's regulations to implement Conclusion No. 81 of the Politburo.
The project was started on the existing land of Bat Mot Kindergarten, Bat Mot 1 Primary School and Bat Mot Secondary School with a total area of about 1.5 hectares. The scale of investment in renovating and upgrading facilities to meet national standard schools level 2 includes classroom facilities with 22 classrooms and 12 subject classrooms, 1 headquarters building, 1 multi-purpose building, 1 traditional house of ethnic culture, library, sports playground, boarding and semi-boarding area for 260 students, public housing for 25 teachers and other auxiliary items.
The total investment of the project is about 170 billion VND, completed before August 30, 2026, in time to be put into use for the new school year 2026 - 2027.
Also in the program, Thanh Hoa province held a groundbreaking ceremony for a social housing project in Ham Rong ward, Thanh Hoa province, including 4 blocks of 25-storey buildings with a total expected number of apartments of 2,376, land use area of about 2.8 hectares, total investment of VND 3,721 billion.
The WHA Smart Technology - Thanh Hoa Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment, Construction and Business Project was started in the communes of Hoang Son, Hoang Phu and Hoang Giang, Thanh Hoa province; the land use scale is over 178 hectares, with a total investment of 1,320 billion VND.
