Initial information, the traffic accident occurred at about 9:15 am on December 26.
At that time, a 7-seat car driven by Vu Dinh Thang (49 years old), residing in village 9, Loc An commune, Bao Lam district, was traveling on National Highway 20 from Bao Loc to Da Lat. When reaching the Tu Quy intersection (village 3, Loc An commune, Bao Lam district), the car suddenly climbed onto the sidewalk and crashed straight into a crane truck driven by Le Quang Minh (residing in Loc Thang town, Bao Lam district) that was parked on the side of the road ahead.
The strong collision caused the car to go under the truck, deforming the front end. According to witnesses at the scene, there were 4 people in the car at the time of the accident (2 adults and 2 children, including the driver).
The driver, Mr. Vu Dinh Thang, was trapped in the driver's seat. People had to use crowbars and other tools to break the car door. After about 15 minutes, they were able to successfully break the door and get the driver out.
All four people in the car were injured. Among them, Mr. Kieu Sy (56 years old), residing in Pleiku city, Gia Lai province, sitting in the front passenger seat was seriously injured. The two children sitting in the back and the driver were fortunately only slightly injured.
Immediately after the incident, local people quickly took all 4 people in the car to Lam Dong II Hospital for emergency treatment.
After receiving the report, the Traffic Police of Di Linh Post (under the Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police) and the Police of Loc An Commune (Bao Lam District) were present at the scene to regulate traffic; at the same time, examined the scene to serve the investigation and clarify the cause of the accident.
