On the evening of September 22nd, a traffic accident occurred in the Phu Luong bridge area on National Highway 5 (in Nam Dong ward, Hai Phong city), causing prolonged traffic congestion on the road in the direction of Hai Phong - Hanoi.
According to records, a truck carrying concrete pillars overturned in the Phu Luong bridge area. After the incident, many concrete pillars fell from the truck onto the road surface, rolling out into the lanes. The concrete pillars were broken in half, lying blocking the road, making it difficult for vehicles behind to move.
The incident also affected many vehicles traveling through the area. Among them, a 16-seater car was heavily damaged after the collision. Images at the scene show that vehicles had to move slowly or stop, forming a long line on National Highway 5.
The prolonged traffic jam for many hours caused many drivers to stop their vehicles to wait for handling. Vehicles lined up on the route, making traffic through the Phu Luong bridge area difficult.
Immediately after the accident occurred, the police force was present at the scene to protect the scene, divert traffic and coordinate to handle the concrete pillars falling onto the road, clearing the road surface.
Functional forces have also mobilized cranes to the scene to move vehicles in the accident and clear the road surface.
Initially, the accident did not record any casualties. The cause of the accident is being clarified by functional agencies.
