On the morning of November 18, the People's Committee of Khe Sanh (Quang Tri province) said that provincial road 587 continued to experience many serious erosion and landslides after heavy rain on November 17.
Recorded at Km 1+588, the concrete road surface was eroded by water causing a negative slope landslide, creating a dangerous frog's jaw. At Km 6+300, the negative slope was strongly eroded, forming a hole 3 - 5m deep, over 20m long, with a road surface of only about 1m left for vehicles to circulate.

Some locations that were temporarily treated before continue to be eroded and severely damaged.
On the morning of November 18, the Traffic Maintenance Management Board of Quang Tri province mobilized vehicles and forces to urgently handle landslides to ensure traffic safety.
Provincial Road 587 is a route connecting Khe Sanh commune with many villages in the old Huc commune with the majority of ethnic minorities living there. Currently, the road is seriously degraded, causing difficulties and dangers to people when passing through.
