According to initial information, at around 1:30 p.m., when arriving at the section passing through Thu Thua commune (Tay Ninh province), the driver discovered smoke coming from the rear of the vehicle, so he immediately put the vehicle in the emergency lane. Just a few minutes later, the fire broke out in the back of the car, forcing the driver and all passengers to quickly leave the vehicle.
The Traffic Police force of Highway 7 (Department 6, Traffic Police Department) on patrol duty quickly arrived, coordinating with local people to use mini fire extinguishers to put out the fire. After about 20 minutes, the fire was completely controlled.
The incident did not cause any human casualties, but the rear of the passenger bus was severely damaged. The incident also caused local traffic congestion in the area for a short time.
The cause of the fire is being further investigated and clarified by the authorities.
